From Apprentice to Owner

Tom Meyer the locksmith

Tom’s passion for locks started young.

After years of learning the trade from the ground up, he built a reputation across North Texas for honest pricing, fast response times, and the technical skill to handle jobs most locksmiths turn away — including luxury vehicle key programming for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Audi.

In 2021, Tom opened his first shop in Fairview, TX, choosing to plant roots in Collin County because of its growing community and the lack of a trustworthy, locally-owned locksmith option.

The Prosper location followed as demand grew across the western side of the county.

Meyer’s Local Locksmith is not a franchise.

There are no call centers, no dispatched strangers, and no surprise fees. When you call, you reach Tom’s team directly.

Meet Tom Meyer, Your Licensed McKinney Locksmith

I’m Tom Meyer, your local locksmith — and I’ve been obsessed with locks since I was a kid.

After more than 20 years in the trade, I opened Meyer’s Local Locksmith in 2021 right here in North Dallas because I wanted to serve my own community.

We now have two shops — in Fairview and Prosper — and a mobile team that covers all of Collin County.

My mission is simple: get you out of a crisis fast, then help you make sure it never happens again.

Whether it’s a car lockout at midnight or a master key system for your business, there’s always a better answer than breaking a window.
